The Moroccan-born singer, who was arrested in Paris on Wednesday October 26th after being accused of sexual assault, now risks prosecution on charges of “aggravated rape” and “voluntary violence.” French publication “Le Monde” reports that he was under the influence of cocaine and alcohol.
According to an article by French publication “Le Monde,” Lamjarred appeared before a judge this morning at 10 A.M., who put him on temporary detention.
The artist was arrested on Wednesday outside a Marriott Hotel after a 20-year-old woman, of French nationality, was allegedly able to escape her room to seek safety in the hotel’s reception area, where the police was called. According to multiple judicial sources, the young woman was “extremely shocked” and pressed charges of “sexual assault with violence.” Medical exams of the woman showed lesions and several injuries. Le Monde also reports that Lamjarred had cocaine and alcohol in his system.
According to HuffPost Maroc, Lamjarred is set to appear in front of a prosecutor on Friday October 28th at 2 P.M. His lawyer, Brahim Rachidi, maintains the singer’s innocence, telling HuffPost that they “will bring proof that there has been no sequestration or rape.”
